FOOD IN GUATEMALA

Everyone always wants to know what I eat when I'm in Guatemala. I'm not a big meat eater so usually look for vegetarian type stuff. The following pictures show some food at a great restaurant in Antigua called La Fonda de la Calle Real. These are little tamales (tamalitos) that have a dough surrounding cheese and black beans. Then I dipped them in this yummy sauce.

They have the best guacamole at this restaurant! And in Antigua you see avocados growing on the trees all over the place. Yum!
This plate has black beans and wild rice and fried plantains (a sweet banana). I have had other chicken dishes at this restaurant, and they have all been delicious too.
