FUN IN ANTIGUA

No trip to Antigua would be complete without a trip to the well known candy store called Dona Maria Gordillo. This place traces its origins all the way back to 1874. They have all kinds of interesting candies including things made from marzipan, shredded coconut, dulce de leche, candied fruit, and sugar ropes. They also have the store decorated with ceramic banks, mostly in the shape of owls.
Nury is showing us a piece of candied apple. We all tried some, and it was delicious!
Yum! What to try? What to try??!

Michelle and Gary each bought sugar ropes. These are definitely not for me, but they are filled with colored and/or plain sugar.
We fell in love with all the owls. They're really cute!

More owls and sugar ropes.
